Joost ops @ Keukenhof

Every year there’s a (really) big flower show at Keukenhof, which is very close to Leiden. Sander suggested we all go, and go we did, with honorary ops member Allan too. It turned out to be the best day of the year to go, right in the middle of the blooming time, and the weather it was great.
It proved to be an excellent opportunity to use all of our cameras. My photos are in a flickr set, Andy’s are here and I’ll link to Thom’s, Allan’s and Sander’s as they go online.

Thanks for the magnificent flower pictures. A very pleasant reminder that spring exists , if only far away from cold, windy and bleak Ontario.

I had been hearing about Joost, but I had no idea what it was (however, a recent post on NeoWin directed me to the Joost Web site, and I was able to get more detail on Joost and what’s behind it). If at all possible, I would like to beta-test the Joost interface and service on Windows Vista (specifically Vista Ultimate). I have an Intel P4 2.6C, 1 GB of RAM, and an AIWE 9700 Pro in AGP trim (Aero-compliant).

Nice photos. I lived in holland for a couple of years. Keukenhof was really a special place. I’ve got a few pics from there myself (one of me riding the knight on the full-size chessboard). Reminds of my first trip to the Netherlands. I was attending a meeting on the EOS Aura satellite (the Dutch are partners) the rep from NIVR the Dutch Space Agency took me on a tour of the tulip field on his motorcycle…the flowers were beautiful and his first name is Joost

Those flowers are beautiful. At my campus right now the flowers are starting to bloom and our tulips are those exact ones, the yellow with red stripes. They should be fully bloomed by the end of the week. I cannot wait.
